Development of Correlations of the Charging and Discharging Times of Carboxyl-Functionalized Multi-Walled Carbon Nanotubes (MWCNT-COOH) and Water with and without Polyethylene Glycol in Spherical Encapsulation

This investigation shows the results of a coupled numerical and experimental study on solidification melting spherical capsules development correlations for time with parameters that impact complete phase change nanofluids water without polyethylene glycol inside plastic capsules. Experiments included different configurations capsule diameters, external temperature, initial temperature material (PCM), PCMs. The PCMs used were water, concentration from 10% to 50%, multi-wall carbon nanotubes functionalized carboxylic acid group (COOH-MWCNT) MWCNT at 0.125, 0.25, 0.5, 1.0%. simplified model was validated available present work literature, showing maximum deviations in range 0.25 12%. simulation showed use nanoparticles base fluid increased velocity processes shortened melting. followed results, deviation about 6%, which proves an excellent concordance experiments.
